Desirea L. O’Gorman

OSWEGO – Desirea L. O’Gorman, 27, of Oswego, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2024.

Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of Ryan O’Gorman and Angela (Sereno) Blackshear.

Desirea enjoyed spending time with her children, friends, and family.  She enjoyed shopping and watching scary movies. Halloween was her favorite time of year.  She also liked watching silly TV shows like Mr. Pickles, going to the casino, playing Fortnight, ice cream trips, late night snacks, and she loved Dunkin Donuts!  She had a love for animals, vacations, dancing, swimming, and playing games.  Desirea loved sports as a child into her teens.  She loved makeup and doing other people’s hair.  Her wish and dream was to one day be a nurse.  Desirea was lovable, funny, caring, energetic, and compassionate.  She had a smile that could brighten up any room.  She was known to help anyone in need, wore her heart on her sleeve and she loved hard and unconditionally.  Desirea had so many dreams, passions, and goals.

Desirea is survived by her loving parents Ryan O’Gorman (Iris Perez) of Oswego and Angela (Ralph) Blackshear of SC, her children Alayna and Ava Pelow and Ryker Stott, her sisters Grace O’Gorman and Jala and Jalicia Blackshear, and brothers Debner and Baylee Gutierrez and Brad Molsberger, as well as many step brothers and sisters.  She is also survived by her grandparents Joan and Dave O’Gorman, her great grandmother Charlotte Sereno, her step mother Michelle O’Gorman, great grandmother Adriene Vanderhaden, four nephews dear to her heart, Chris and Andrew Mears, and Amias and Milo Gutierrez,  many loved aunts and uncles, Sarah (Jeff) VanMarter, Joseph Sereno, Eric Sereno, and Justin Galletta, Chelsea Sereno, Shannon De-Jonge, Elisa Sereno Wood, and several cousins including close cousin Luke VanMarter.

Desirea was preceded in death by her grandparents Louie and Helen Sereno, great grandparents Shirley and Red Miller, great grandfathers Charles Vanderhaden and Louie Sereno Sr., and great grandmother Marlene O’Gorman.

Family and close friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, August 5th, 2024 from 2-4 pm, with funeral service with Pastor Bill King at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street, Oswego.   Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
