Dolores M. Joy

OSWEGO – Dolores M. Joy, of Oswego, New York, passed away on November 17, 2022, at home.

Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Castiglia) Joy.

Dolores worked as a secretary and did accounting for Syracuse and Oswego Motor Lines, for 35 years. She had a passion for animals and loved her dogs and cats very much. She also enjoyed gardening.

Dolores is survived by many loved nieces and nephews including Carleen Palmitesso, Virginia Fragale (Joseph), Charlene Fragale (Jack Woods), and Grayson Woods, and friends, especially caregiving friend Renee Mournighan.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at St. Mary’s Parish and Shrine.

Calling hours will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., prior to the funeral, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street.  Burial will be held in St. Peter Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dolores’ name to the Oswego County Humane Society, 29 W Seneca St #1542, Oswego, NY 13126 or Paws Across Oswego County, 2035 County Rte 1, Oswego, NY 13126.
