Jessica M. Dorrian

OSWEZGO – Jessica M. Dorrian, 68, most recently a resident of Oswego, NY, departed while in the comfort of her own home on the afternoon of October 21, 2024.

Jessica lived very near her eldest son, Jerry, whom she saw often. She remained very independent and lived a quiet and comfortable life, finally passing away peacefully in her sleep.

 Raised in Kings Park, NY, Jessica always considered Long Island her home. In the late ’90s, she moved to Melbourne, FL, to be close to her mother and raise her youngest son, Jesse, who would himself go on to build a beautiful life. A retiree of New York State, she worked for decades at Pilgrim Psychiatric Hospital in Brentwood, NY. After the birth of her youngest son, she went on to hold positions at both Circles of Care Hospital in Melbourne, FL, and later at United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island, NY.

A child of the ’60s and ’70s, Jess was a free spirit who loved to travel. A naturally gifted artist, she also enjoyed music of all genres, reading, and had a true appreciation for people and food of all cultures. Raised Catholic, she was deeply spiritual in her own way, a woman of unshakable faith and perseverance. She was a source of strength to those who loved her and will be greatly missed.

Above all, Jessica was a loving mother to Jesse Jake Dorrian and Gerald Patrick Dorrian Jr., daughter of the late Jacqueline and James Sherry, sister of James Joseph Sherry, and former wife of the late Gerald Patrick Dorrian Sr. She is survived by her sons, Jesse and Jerry Jr., and her brother, Jim.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish in Oswego, NY.
