Mary Ann Anderson

OSWEGO – Mary Ann Anderson, 91, of Oswego, passed away on April 15, 2026, at Seneca Hill Manor, following a brief illness.

Born in Oswego to the late Charles and Alexandra Connors, Mary attended Oswego schools in her youth and later received a nursing assistant certificate from Seminole Community College.

Mary will be remembered for her warm spirit, quick wit, and the effortless way she brought laughter into any room. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a spark about her that made time spent with her truly special. Above all, Mary’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply, taking pride in each of their lives and accomplishments. Whether through shared stories, laughter, or quiet moments together, she created a lasting legacy of love that will be carried on by all who knew her.

In addition to her family, Mary enjoyed many fond friendships while living at Minetto Senior Apartments and through her memberships in the local Red Hat Society, Ladies Auxiliary of Oswego Elks #271, and the Golden Ages. She was also a communicant of St. Mary’s and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

She is survived by her seven children; three daughters, Linda (Stan) Segal, Marianne (Barry) Mullen, and Karen Brown; four sons, Michael (Kristen) DeSantis, John (Marguerite) DeSantis, David DeSantis, and Robert Anderson; a sister, Patricia (James) Switzer-Moran; and a brother, Joseph Connors. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Kristen (Kevin) Slimmer, Ryan (Christy) DeSantis, Erin (Scott) Tucker, Jessica Mullen, Chris (Amanda) Mullen, Matt (Liz) DeSantis, Tim DeSantis, Shannon (Matt) Giles, Brandon DeSantis, Lauren (Justin) O’Keefe, Tyler (Chelsea) Brown; twenty-five beloved great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Robert J. Anderson; a granddaughter, Karen Aubertine; her brother, Edward Connors; sister-in-law, Margit Connors; and brother-in-law, Richard Switzer.

A Catholic Mass will be held 10 am Saturday, April 18th, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Minetto.
