Mary T. Magnante

OSWEGO – Mary T. “Meg” Magnante, of Oswego, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 after a short illness. She was born on December 17, 1938 in Oswego, NY, to Charles and Anna (Kief) Thompson and
graduated Oswego High School in 1956.

Meg was well known around Oswego for her volunteer work at the YMCA and years spent as a barista for local cultural hotspot, The Coffee Connection. She also enjoyed traveling and staying fit with exercise and weight lifting. One of her favorite spots to meditate was The Bluffs along
the coast of Sterling, NY, where she also loved to kayak.

She is predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Gerald A. Magnante, who passed in 2000; brothers, Larry and Chuck Thompson, and sisters, Roseann Dexter and Helen Hoey.

Meg is survived by her children, Peter C. Magnante, of Boston, MA and Julie A. Magnante of Oswego, NY; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

A graveside gathering will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego, NY for friends and family to offer a fond farewell.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
(stjude.org[1]).

Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
