PULASKI, NY – Muriel A. Vanvorst, 84, of Pulaski passed on January 16, 2021.
Born in Middletown, New York, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Muriel (Wilkenson) Crist.
Muriel graduated from Middletown High School and went on to be a Nurse’s Aid. She loved her 41 years working at The Horton B. Anthony Hospital in Middletown where she was a longtime resident.
Muriel enjoyed traveling. She also loved nature, being outdoors, and fishing with her boys.
Muriel is survived by four sons Richard A. (Andrea Grandolfo) York of Pulaski, David B. York of Florida, Joseph (Jana) Johonness of Mongup Valley, NY, and Matthew Johonness of Wurtsoboro Hills, NY; her brother Norwood Crist of Delaware; eight grandchildren Christine York Giannotti, Scott Allan York, Richard Anger, Brittany Taylor York, David York, Chistian Davanzo, Arya Johonness and Ava Johonness and four great grandchildren Alex Yrok Gianotti, Giuliana Gianotti, Adelyn Elizabeth York and Abby Anger.
In addition to her parents, Muriel was predeceased by her infant son David York, her brother Charles Crist, sister Delores Cenero and her husband Frederick Vanvorst.
Services will be held privately. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Nelson Funeral Home.
