Born in Westmoreland, she was the daughter of the late Welcome and Edna (Soder) Mosher.

Nancy was a long-time Teacher’s Aide at Fitzhugh Elementary in the Oswego City School District.  She retired in 1996.

Nancy was initiated into the Lake City Chapter No 352 Order of the Eastern Star on April 9, 1976.  She held the chair of Martha for a few years before starting through the line.  She was worthy matron, with her husband Tom, in 1988 and district deputy grand matron in 1989.  She was a trustee for three years and then elected treasurer in 1993.  She held that office for 30 years.  Nancy was also secretary-treasurer of the Past Matrons’ Association for many years after serving as the group’s president in 1989.  She was a dedicated member of the kitchen crew and actively assisted with dinners.  She was a friend, a mentor, and a guiding light in both chapter and order.

Nancy loved knitting, crocheting, and quilting.  She was very talented and most proud to have made her two daughters and daughter-in-law’s wedding dress.  She was an avid sports fan, especially for the NY Yankees and NY Giants.  Always active in the community, she volunteered for Hospice from 2009-2022 and as a Lenten Luncheon worker for the Church of the Resurrection where she was an active member for many years.

Nancy is survived by her children Thomas E. (Theresa) Costello of Syracuse, Sharon A.(Jon) McCoy of Hannibal, and Carol Ann (late Paul) Sulpizio of West Seneca. She also has five grandchildren: Sarah (Larry) Collins, Emily (Chris) O’Hern, Kathryn Costello (Keith Bergerstock), John McCoy (Katie Fesenger), Dr. Colleen E. McCoy, and four great-grandchildren.
