Peggy Jean Pryor

OSWEGO – Peggy Jean Pryor, 76, of Scriba, NY, passed away unexpectedly on March 10, 2026.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  She was born on March 17, 1949, in Oswego, NY, to William and Evelyn DeLapp.

She is remembered fondly for her kindness, love, and generosity.  She was the strongest woman we knew.  She dedicated her life to nurturing her children, Gregory Scott Pryor and Barbara Jean Pryor, who always knew they were deeply loved and cherished.  She beamed with pride for both.  She was a devoted wife and best friend to Robert Pryor for 57 years.  A lover of animals and gardening, she doted over her pets and flowers.  She adored the sound of children laughing and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family.  She worked at several local businesses and retired from Niagara Mohawk.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband Robert, and their dog Buddy; her children Greg (Tamatha) of Florence, SC, and Barb (Kevin) and granddog Corky; her sister Mary DeLapp and brother Richard DeLapp; her sisters-in-law Linda Pryor and Pat (Bill) Seymour; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters LaRita Hutton and Patricia Kandt; her brothers LaVerne, Robert, and Donald, as well as several nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call from 3-5 pm, March 29, 2026, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street.
