Sally Ann Strom

OSWEGO – Sally Ann Strom, 92, of Baldwinsville, NY, passed away on August 6, 2024.

Born in Watertown, MA, she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie (Smith) Beattie.

A graduate of the University of Vermont, she worked as a Medical Technologist at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boston, and was a Board Certified member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.

Sally was an avid gardener, and served several years as President of the Forest Hills Garden Club, in Glenville, NY.  She loved flowers, studied floral arranging, and used her talents to give beautiful arrangements to the people she cared about.  Sally also loved music, having studied trumpet for 8 years under a former member of the John Philip Sousa band.  During the years her husband, David, worked in New York City, she and David attended many Broadway shows, and took full advantage of the restaurants, bargain shopping and street fairs that New York City offered. In her later years, Sally knit beautiful sweaters that will be cherished by her family.

Sally was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority, Eta Chapter.

Sally was devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, David Strom, her daughter Elaine (Michael) Flood, her granddaughter Erin Flood (Alex Fernandes), and her Great Granddaughter Nova Flood-Fernandes.

She was predeceased by her son, Steven Strom, and sisters Elsie Bloomfield and Joan Blackman.

Donations in Sally’s memory can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

There will be a graveside committal service at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA at a time to be announced.
