OSWEGO – Timothy M. Donovan, 68, a resident of Lakeland, FL, passed away on July 15, 2020, after a long battle with cancer.

Tim was born in Phoenix, was an Oswego native, and recently moved to Florida. He is survived by his wife Melissa (Monroe) Donovan, his daughter Brandy (Timothy) Weigelt, his son Michael Donovan, three step-children Rebecca (Joe), Michael (Mechelle) and Ricky (Tiffany). Tim was a loving papa to his grandchildren Tylar, Elexis, Cole, and Mazzie.
Tim retired from the Oswego County Sherriff’s Department in 1993.
He was an active member of the Sandpiper Golf Community where he lived and was also elected president. Tim was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church where he served on the board for several years.
Tim enjoyed hunting and building cars with his son and grandson, traveling, attending the Oswego Speedway, and the Oswego State Lakers Hockey Games. He loved his corvette and was a member of the CNY Corvette club. Tim enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sports.
Tim is predeceased by his father Richard N. Donovan, his mother Marilyn W. Donovan, and his wife of 44 years Cyndia A. Donovan.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Twelve O’Clock at the First United Methodist Church in Fulton, NY. There will be calling hours, at the church, from 10:00 – 11:30 am prior to the Memorial Service. Nelson Funeral Home.
