Joanne M. Seymour, 66

OSWEGO, NY – Joanne M. Seymour, 66, a resident of Hannibal, passed away Thursday May 31, 2012, peacefully at home.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Doolittle) Watters.
She attended Oswego schools and Manhattan Dental Assistants School in New York and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW post 2320.
She was previously employed at Wal-Mart, SGL Auburn Spark Plug and taught ceramics classes.
Besides being a crafty lady, Joanne loved reading, bird watching, doing puzzles and was often the life of the party.
She enjoyed hearing and telling a good joke and was always willing to provide a home to a stray in need.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, and cooking for a houseful.
Above all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Joanne was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Surviving are her husband, Douglas Seymour; three daughters, Christina (Desmond) Seymour of Winter Haven, Fla.; Crystal (Matthew) Decker of Hannibal and Chantel (Jim) Eckert of Scriba; a brother-in-law, David Russell; sisters-in-law, Pamela Watters and Gayle Brosnan Watters; nine grandchildren, Timothy C. DeMott, Brittany Seymour, Christina DeMott, Desmond Seymour Jr., Zachary DeMott, Ashley McKenzie, Page McKenzie, Tyler Eckert and David Decker; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Charlene Russell, Charles Watters, Clarence Watters, Richard Watters and Robert Watters.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday, with a service to follow, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St.
Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery.
