OSWEGO, NY – Joette Deane passed away on Thursday January 2, 2014, peacefully in her home after a long battle with cancer.

She is survived by husband, Barry; sons, Arran (Theresa) and Devin (Alissa); grandchildren, Isabella, Ella and Liam; sisters, Beverly and Sheila.

Joette was the director of community services and a very active member of Rotary both in Oswego and Bonita Springs,Florida.

Joette was passionate about bringing clean water to under developed countries.

Lover of travel, Paris held a special place in her heart, but at the drop of a hat she was ready to go most anywhere fun.

She brought a magical inner spirit to the grandchildren with Christmas magic, fairy dust, and magical secret gardens.

She never passed a consignment shop that didn’t make her car veer sideways.

She was a vibrant woma and advocated for others to be likewise empowered.

She will be forever in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held at the Foundry in Oswego on Sunday at noon.
