Joseph F. Golas, 74, a resident of Oswego, passed away January 5, 2010 at St. Luke Health Services.
Born in Oswego he was the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Edith (Hogan) Golas.
He was a member of the Labor Local 214 for over 32 years.
Joe was an avid hunter, he enjoyed the outdoors and a member of the Polish Club.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Murray) Golas; one daughter, Shirley Golas Kuru of Albany, NY; four sons, Kevin (Lynne) Golas of Little Falls, NY; Daniel (Janet Knopp) Golas of Ravena, NY; Scott (Dawn Sawyer) Golas and Jason Golas, both of Oswego; four grandchildren, Justin Kibbe, Chad Golas, Nickaela Sawyer and Jenna Golas; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Catherine Dunsmore.
Funeral Services will be held 2:30p.m. Saturday at the Nelson Funeral Home.
Call hour will be held 12 noon to 2:30p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
