OSWEGO, NY – Larry W. Taylor, 60 of Oswego, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016, at his home after a long battle with renal failure.

Originally from McKees RocKs, Pennsylvania, Larry was the only child of Marie Mastroto Taylor who predeceased him in 2005; and Leroy W. Taylor who predeceased him in 1998.

He graduated from Edinboro University in 1977 and had received his Masters of Business Administration and Masters of Science Degrees from Oswego State University where he served as an adjunct professor.

Larry began his career working for N.I.C. (National Inspection Consultants) as a quality inspector for ten years.

He then joined the nuclear world at Nine Mile Point for twenty-five years as first, a quality inspector and later as Supervisor of Human Resources.

When Ginna Nuclear Power Plant in Rochester was purchased by Constellation, Larry was named the Director of Human Resources where he retired from in 2013.

Many will remember Larry as the co-owner of Mojo’s Restaurant and the Lodge on the Loop Guns and Ammo.

He was a past member of the Oswego Town Volunteer Fire Department.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and all round outdoorsman and enjoyed motorcycle riding.

Larry and his family enjoyed spending time at their summer home “The Farm” where there was always an open invitation to friends and family.

Campfires, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, shooting and Larry’s incredible meals and specialty homemade cheesecakes are just a few of the family’s fondest memories.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-one years, Shari (Bussell) Taylor, three daughters, Lauren (Gennaro) Itri of Arizona, Chelsea Taylor  of Colorado and Cassidy Taylor of Oswego; and the light of his life, his granddaughter, Elliana Itri.

The girl’s favorite song continues to be “Dad is Great, He Gives Us Chocolate Cake.”

Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

A service will follow at 7 p.m.

Friends and family are invited to a gathering to remember Larry at the American Foundry following services at the funeral home.

Spring burial will be in Rural Cemetery.
