Margaret M. Griffin, 93

OSWEGO, NY – Margaret M. Griffin, 93, a resident of Route 104A in the town of Oswego, passed away Tuesday July 26, 2016, at St. Luke Health Services.
Mrs. Griffin was born in the town of Oswego on August 27, 1922, and was a life resident.
She was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Barker) Somers.
Prior to her 1995 retirement, she was employed, for 30 years, as a cook at Canale’s Restaurant in Oswego.
Mrs. Griffin was a member of the Fulton Women of the Moose, the Fulton Ancient Order of Hibernians and was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Hannibal.
She was well known for her Texas Hots, her pickled eggs, and her spicy attitude.
She was the wife of the late Joseph P. “Pete” Griffin, who died on November 26, 1998.
She is survived by five sons, Peter (Rosie) Griffin of Granby, Daniel (Linda) Griffin of Hannibal, Richard (Sandy) Griffin of Oswego, David (Kathy) Griffin of California and Gary (Janet) Griffin of Hannibal; 11 siblings, Marjorie Glerum, Irene Pritchard, Pat (Olin) Pritchard, Dick (Donna) Somers, Bill (Terri) Somers, Lillian Meeker, Jane Kingsley, Worden (Pat) Somers, Gina (Bob) Flack, Sandy Fox and Tim (Sandy) Somers; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 1/2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Kathy Somers and Merle Somers; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Henry and Agnes Dewey; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by five siblings, Violet Pritchard, Leo Somers, Carl Somers, Paul Somers and Helen Kelly.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, in Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Hannibal.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
Burial will be in Fairdale Cemetery.
Following the burial, a Celebration of Life will be held at Malone’s Hideaway on Barker Road in Oswego.
Memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Hannibal, or to the Hannibal Resource Center.
