Patrick J. Cloonan, 61

OSWEGO, NY – Patrick J. Cloonan, 61, a resident of West Schuyler Street in Oswego, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012.
Pat was born in Oswego, the son of the late Hubert and Beulah (Kitchen) Cloonan.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Alcan Aluminum Corp in Oswego for more than 35 years.
More recently, Pat was employed with the Port of Oswego Authority.
He was a graduate of Oswego High School, where he was an all-star athlete. A true sports enthusiast, he could recite names, dates, and numerous momentous occasions in sports history.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Oswego.
He is survived by his siblings, Hugh (JoAnn) Cloonan of Oswego, Valerie (James) Martin of Jacksonville Fla., Maureen Cloonan of New Hartford, Mike (Barb Knopp) Cloonan of Oswego, Connie (John) Cloonan-Thurber of Princeton, NJ, Carol (Robert) Loughrey of Oswego, Kathy Cloonan of Oswego and James Cloonan of Oswego; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom he absolutely adored.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, in St. Mary’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
