OSWEGO, NY – Sally Ann (McIntosh) Spath passed away Monday January 18, 2016, after 72 well-lived years and a valiant battle against long-term health issues.

A life resident of Oswego and SUNY Oswego graduate, Sally was a dedicated teacher for many years at Oswego city, St. Mary’s and Trinity Catholic schools, touching the lives of countless students.
Sally was an active member of St. Mary’s Church, serving as a religious education teacher, first communion leader, bazaar volunteer, reader, and lay and Eucharistic minister.
Sally was active in the community as a member of her class reunion planning committee, volunteering at Human Concerns and taking classes with “the girls at the Y.”
Sally enjoyed going to Oswego State hockey and New York Yankees games, spending time with her beloved grandchildren, sewing and creating crafts for family and friends, travelling with her husband and family, and watching the world go by from her front porch.
Sally is being welcomed into the House of the Lord by her parents, Joseph and Ellen McIntosh; and siblings, Orin McIntosh, Jeanette Currier and Marsha Schaffer.
She leaves behind to mourn her loss and cherish her legacy her beloved husband of 50 years. William; sons, Michael (Karin) and William (Kristin); grandchildren and lights of her life, Emily, Adam and Benjamin; sister, Kathryn (John) Rucynski; as well as many brothers- and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, dear friends, former students and colleagues.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
In lieu of flowers, Sally requested donations be made to either: St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, Human Concerns Center Food Pantry, or the Scleroderma Foundation.
