She is now rejoicing in the Lord’s presence!

Santa was born in Oswego, NY, the daughter of the late Angelo and Teresa (Taverna) Grasso.

She lived all of her life in that area before moving to Palm Coast, Fla., one year ago with her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Rob Tonkin.

Santa’s priorities were always very clear to her and evident to anyone who knew her.

Her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was exhibited in her life, in her personal choices, in her serving of others, and in her ability to trust in Him to rise above the circumstances of life.

She worshiped at both the Fulton and Oswego Alliance Churches, where she was provided with Biblical truths that allowed her to grow and be equipped in her faith.

Santa worked outside of the home early on in her life but her primary role that she loved, lived for and excelled at was as wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to raising her family, she spent a large part of her life in the role of a caregiver, which began at the age of 20 when she took on the role as head of household caring for and raising her four younger siblings when their parents passed away.

She again found herself in the role of primary caregiver for her husband, Charles A. Rinoldo, after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Santa cared for him at home until his death in 1995.

She was predeceased by seven siblings, Lena Consiglio, Thomas Grasso, Christine Talamo, Angie Gould, Benny Grasso, Mimi Ponzi and Virg Brannigan.

One of the many ways that Santa expressed her love was through her gift of hospitality and her passion for cooking and baking.

Her table was always full of people, love, laughter and wonderful food.

She could generally be found in the kitchen preparing food for family, friends or to be delivered to someone in need.

She is survived by her children, Theresa (Tom) Galletta and Chuck (Cathie) Rinoldo both of Oswego, Ken (Katie) Rinoldo of Flagler Beach, Fla., and  Lisa (Rob) Tonkin of Palm Coast Fla.; grandchildren, John (Patti) Landry of Phoenix, Ariz., DeeDee (Dave) Plummer of Mooresville NC, Tracey (Brian) Bostian of Huntersville NC, Jason Rinoldo of Oswego, NY, Christopher (Marley) Rinoldo of Cicero, NY, Jennifer (Selwyn) Woolford of Denver Colo., Sheena Tonkin of Lakeland Fla., Matt Rinoldo of Atlanta Ga., Ryan Tonkin of Winter Park, Fla., and Kristin (Chris) Sylva of Quito, Ecuador; as well as eight great-grandchildren and with a ninth on the way.

There will be no calling hours.

Graveside service will be private and held at a later date.
