Suzanne Mary Backus, 68, of Oneida River Rd., Pennellville, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side on Wednesday May 18, 2011.
Born to her late parents, Robert and Evelyn (La Brake) Bresnahan in 1943. A graduate of APW Central Schools, class of 1961. Suzanne was a machine operator at New Process Gear, Syracuse, and a homemaker.
Surviving are her devoted husband of 48 years, David J. Backus; two sons Eric (Shelley) Backus of Phoenix, Aron (Michelle) Backus of Pennellville; two daughters, BethAnn (Byran) Whelan of Pennellville, Pamela (Gary) Pittman of Baldwinsville; one brother, Michael Bresnahan of FL; one sister, Barbara Lescenski of W. Amboy; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; aunts; nieces, nephews, cousins.
Calling hours are from 4 to 6 pm on Tuesday May 24, with the funeral service at 6 pm, at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, NY 13135. The Rev. William Byrant of the W. Amboy Community Church will officiate.
