Alphonso Viscome, 87

FULTON, NY – Alphonso Viscome, 87, of Fulton died Tuesday March 27, 2012,  in Oswego Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Viscome was born in White Plains, NY, and has been a resident of Fulton for most of his life.

He worked as a construction laborer, and was the maintenance man at Lake View Lanes in Fulton.

Mr. Viscome served in the United States Marines during World War II.

He was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame.

Mr. Viscome was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Viscome, in 2003; and his brother, Alfred Viscome.

He is survived by his children, David Viscome of Fulton, Tanya Calbit of California, Robert (Debra) French of Fulton, Herbert French of Fulton, Donald French of Fulton, Katherine (Gene) Stone of Fulton and Julie (Bruce) Knapp of Fulton; brothers Robert (Alice) Viscome of Hannibal and Antonio Viscome of Fulton; sisters, Teresa Raponi of Fulton and Victoria Czerow of Oswego; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday 4:30 p.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home, Fulton.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.

Calling hours will be Friday 3 – 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home, 224 W. Second St., Fulton.
