David G. Shoemaker

FULTON – David G. Shoemaker, 77, of Granby, died Tuesday, December 12, 2023, peacefully at home with his family by his side.

David was born in Syracuse the son of the late Grant and Olive (Howes) Shoemaker. He received his Master’s degree in education, and was a technology teacher at the Oswego High School, for over thirty years retiring in 2005. Upon his retirement he began his new career as a gentleman farmer, raising horses, growing Christmas trees, and pumpkins, and producing maple syrup, where he would share with everyone his good fortune. David enjoyed building, working with woods and metals, and reminding others to “Be Kind”.

He is survived by his loving wife Joy Shoemaker of Granby, and their children Annalee Harrell of Oswego, Kathy (Frank) Haught of SC, his siblings Jane Naylor of Az, Paul (Pamela) Shoemaker of Camillus, Charles (Cindy) Shoemaker of Manlius, and his loving grandchildren Benjamin (Erin) Harrell and Abigail Harrell.

In keeping with David’s wishes his services will be private.

The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2^nd St. Fulton.
