FULTON, NY – Frances A. Rupert, 87, of Fulton, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017, in Seneca Hill Manor, Volney, NY, with her family by her side.
She was born in Phoenix, NY, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Elizabeth (Jackson) McMullen.
Frances owned and operated the Farm Tavern of Fulton for more than 20 years.
She was the caretaker for the home of Ajoy and Geeta Roy, where she was the nanny for their children, Shreyes and Preyas, her second family.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Frances loved playing bingo, loved cats and spent most weekends going to garage sales.
She is survived by the father of her children, Douglas Rupert of Florida; her children, Douglas (Sandy) Rupert of Pennsylvania, Daniel (Diane) Rupert of Oswego, Donald Rupert of Fulton, Darlene (Michael) Kempston of Fulton, Diane Smith of Florida, Donna Gorman of Brewerton, Dennis (Denise) Rupert of Fulton and Darryl (Christine) Rupert of Hannibal; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Frances was predeceased by her grandson, James J. Rupert; great-granddaughter, Kendall M. Libbey; siblings Mack, Mick, Dorothy, Ruth and Dot.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., Fulton.
Burial will be in Phoenix Rural Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 – 6 p.m. at the funeral home, 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton.
The family would like to extend its gratitude to all of the staff at the Seneca Hill Manor, Volney, that provided care for their mother for the past five years.
