FULTON – May 13, 2026, George Roberts, 75; of Clay, NY passed peacefully Wednesday, May 13th, 2026; at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego after a short illness.
Mr. Roberts was born in Fulton, NY to the late George and Shirley (Ward) Roberts. He was a United States Veteran having served in the Air Force from 1971 to 1978 as an E-5/Canine Handler. Mr. Roberts began working at the Oswego Steam Station and then transferred to the Nuclear Plants, Scriba NY as a Maintenance Mechanic for Niagara Mohawk. He retired after several years of service. Mr. Roberts enjoyed sports in all phases of his life, first lettering in G Ray High School Basketball, Football and Track. George continued his love of sports playing on a city Softball 18 and older league for countless years and later became his grandson Kallen’s biggest fan while he played sports. George was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed his time in the outdoors. Mr. Roberts was pre-deceased by his brothers: Gary Roberts and Toby Roberts.
e is survived by his companion of 18 years: Theresa “Terri” Coppage of Clay, his sons: Keith Roberts of Fulton and Curtis Roberts of Fulton; his sisters: Sandra St. Phillips of Fulton, and Ginny Ostness of Fulton; 5 grandchildren: Toby, Naomi, Caitlan, Alek and Kallen; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held 4:00 to 6:00 PM Tuesday at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton followed by Military Honors to be bestowed by the United States Air Force at 6:05 PM.
Burial will be conducted privately.
