OSWEGO, NY – Isabel L. Dufore passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 5, 2017.

Born on July 26, 1923, in Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of William and Evelyn Conliffe.
She grew up in Ogdensburg NY, where she met and married her husband, John, in 1952.
After a short period of time in Syracuse, NY, they moved to Oswego where they founded Dufore’s for Diamonds in 1956.
She and John worked side by side in the store for more than 40 years. Today John and Isabel’s legacy carries on in the family owned business.
Isabel’s life revolved around her family. She adored all her children and their children. Her greatest happiness and memories were from time spent enjoying her loving family.
Isabel was predeceased in 2009 by her loving husband of 65 years, John.
She is survived by five devoted children, their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Gregory and Jean (Canale), David and Michele (Canale), JoAnn and Richard (Mulcahey), Timothy and Julie (Gorman) and Mark and Lisa (Wardour).
Isabel and John were blessed with 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren: Gregory, Emily (Zach), Thomas, Matthew (Heather), Raeane (Cad), Jonathon, Jill, Ryan (Amanda), Timothy (Heather), Elizabeth, Kaythrine, Joshua, Lisette, Noah, Killian, Timothy and John Thomas.
She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Turnbull, of Florida.
She was predeceased by her brother, William Conliffe; and two sisters, Dorothy Whiston and Evelyn (Peggy) Pelletier.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday July 8, at 9 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Oswego.
Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
The family will be present to receive friends Friday, July 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
Donations may be made to Oswego Health Foundation to support the activities at Springside at Seneca Hill, 10 County Route 45A, Oswego, NY 13126, where Isabel happily spent the last seven years of her life with of the kindness and support of the Springside community.
