Jason E. ‘Jay’ Yager Jr., 89

FULTON, NY – Jason E. “Jay” Yager Jr., 89, of Fulton passed away peacefully on Friday June 23, 2017, at Michaud Residential Health Services, Fulton.

He was born in Fulton, to the late Jason and Ethel (Allen) Yager Sr.

Mr. Yager remained a lifetime resident of Fulton.

Mr. Yager was a United States World War II veteran having served in the Navy from 1945-1947.

He retired from General Electric after 37 years of service as a plumber and steamfitter.

Mr. Yager was a past communicant of Holy Family Church, Fulton.

He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Carmela L. Yager, in 2013; their son, Jason Yager III, in 2000; siblings: Willard Yager, June Niver, Mildred Kelly and Anna Mae VanBuren; and son-in-law, Stephen Turner.

Mr. Yager is survived by his children: Daniel (Jamie Barron) Yager of Elmira, NY, Christine (Howard) Rose and Julie (Joseph) Crahan both of Baldwinsville, NY and Joyce Turner of Hannibal; his sister, Beverly Hudson of Fulton; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton, with a funeral service to follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. John Canorro officiating.

Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
