Jeanette C. Loomis, 79

FULTON, NY – Jeanette C. Loomis, lovingly known as Nana, 79, of Fulton, passed away home with her devoted family on Sunday December 20, 2015.

She was born in Fulton to the late Cecil Shoen, Lillian (Beaudin) Shoen and step-father Louis DeVoe.

Mrs. Loomis was retired from Oswego County Public Health Department, Oswego, where she worked for 29 years as a Home Health Aide.

She was past employed with General Electric and she had also worked as a private duty nurse.

Mrs. Loomis truly enjoyed her family and enjoyed camping with them and being in charge of entertaining the group.

She was a member of the National Campers and Hikers Association which put her in charge of major events participated by several people throughout her camping life.

She would be in charge of the catering, organizing and providing shows and entertainment for the campers.

Mrs. Loomis was the family event planner which included planning the weddings and trips they enjoyed together.

She also was a loving mother to everyone and welcomed them into her home.

Her family also remembers her helping a few of her patients travel to visit their own families and create their own memories.

Mrs. Loomis also worked as a past chairwomen of the VFW Post #569 Junior Girls Unit.

She was an avid volunteer for several events and causes.

She was predeceased by her brother. Richard “Dick” Shoen.

Mrs. Loomis was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roy A. Loomis of Fulton; daughters: Lisa (David) VanSanford of Fulton and Laurie (Donald) Barton of Fulton; sister-in-law, Joan White-Shoen; five grandchildren: David S. VanSanford, Alesia (Daniel) Wright, Christopher (Kelly) VanSanford, Steven (Carolyn) Hartle and Brandon (Natasha) VanSanford; seven great-grandchildren: Carter, Trevor, Cooper, Kena, Liam, Cadence and Kahlan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She also leaves her companion, Pikachu.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton, followed by funeral services at 6 p.m. with Rev. Robert Stephenson officiating.

Burial will be held privately.
