OSWEGO, NY – John D. Barnard Jr. died peacefully on Sunday September 23, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.
Born April 9, 1926, John served in the United State Army 11th airborne as a paratrooper in World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Irene; his daughter, Suzanne; and sons, John, Kevin and Peter.
John is also survived by his six grandchildren, Caitlin, Andy, Kiely, Mark, Kari and Steven; as well as one great-granddaughter, Zayley; and his brother, Robert.
His good character, personal values and work ethic have served as important lessons to us all.
Funeral services and burial in Clarerack Cemetery will be private.
The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego, NY
