FULTON, NY – John J. Rizzo Sr., 95, of Creekside Drive, Fulton, died Saturday January 12, 2013.
Mr. Rizzo was born in Fulton, the son of the late Frank and Madeline (Scalise) Rizzo.
He remained a resident of the Fulton, Phoenix area all his life.
Mr. Rizzo received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Syracuse University.
He retired from Nestle’s Co., Fulton after many years of service.
Mr. Rizzo was an avid bowler, member of the bowling leagues and the VFW, Phoenix.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Rizzo, in 1999.
Mr. Rizzo is survived by his son, John J. Rizzo Jr. of Fulton; daughters, Madelyn Dievendorf of Minoa, Elizabeth Rizzo of Rome, Connie Yablonski of Oswego; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Sugar Funeral Home, Fulton, and 9:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Fulton.
Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday 5 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 224 W. Second. St., Fulton.
