Patricia Cooper Maxon

OSWEGO – January 21, 2026, Patricia Cooper Maxon, 84; of Sterling, NY passed away Wednesday, January 21st, 2026, at Huntington Living Center, Waterloo, NY; after a brief illness.

Patricia was born on December 10th, 1941; in Liverpool, NY, to the late Manford and Eleanor (Ames) Lehne.  When she was a young girl, her family moved to Sterling, NY.  In 1963, Patricia married Clarence “Coop” Cooper.  They remained in Sterling, NY where they raised their two sons together while operating a successful Sawmill Business in Fair Haven, NY called Lichenheim Cooperage.  In later years, Patricia built Springbrook Golf Course on the family farm.  She was a talented artist who loved creating paintings of people in her life and her community.

Pat was pre-deceased by her husbands:  Clarence Cooper and Fred Maxon.  She was also pre-deceased by her brother Manford Lehne, her son:  Steven Cooper Sr., and her grandson:  Steven Cooper Jr.

Pat is survived by her son and daughter-in-law:  Curtis and Lisa Cooper of Sterling, NY; granddaughter:  Jennifer Cooper of Austin, TX; grandson:  Cameron (Caitlin) Cooper of Sterling, NY; and great grandchildren:  Caroline and Kayce Cooper.  She is also survived by her siblings:  Pricilla “Nikki” (Ron) Kittren and Peter (Brenda) Lehne and several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Pat’s wishes there will be no Funeral Service or Calling Hours.

Burial will be held privately.

The Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton has care of the arrangements.
