OSWEGO, NY – Theresa A. Blackwell, 92, of Hannibal, Fulton and Liverpool, died Wednesday December 7, 2016, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Lucinski) Rymkiewicz.
She moved to Oswego County in 1962.
Mrs. Blackwell worked as an overseas telephone operator during World War II in Rock Island, Ill.
She was a department manager at Montgomery Wards in Fulton and J.C. Penney Co. in Illinois.
Mrs. Blackwell also worked as a fraud investigator for Social Services.
She then worked as the housing inspector for HUD with the Oswego County Planning Board until she retired at 78 years of age.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert C. Blackwell, in 1969.
Mrs. Blackwell is survived by her sons, Robert (Victoria) Blackwell of Liverpool and Michael (Patricia) Blackwell of Oswego; five grandchildren, Robin, Cindy, Adam, Ryan and Justin; and two great-granddaughters, Theresa and Addison.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday from 9 to 11 a.m., prior to the funeral service at the funeral home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
