Georgette M. Dubois, 80

Georgette M. Dubois, 80, of Oswego, NY, entered into eternal rest on July 19th, 2008 in St. Narcisse, Quebec, Canada at the Centre de Sante Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

She was born in St-Severin, Proulxville, Quebec, Canada, on August 29th, 1927. She was one of 11 children of Wilbrod & Ernestine Hamelin.

She was previously a seamstress employed at Alma Foundations and later for many years at McDonald’s Fashions. She was later the Estee Lauder beauty consultant for McDonald’s. She was active in the Catholic Daughters, Business Professional Women’s Association, Toastmaster’s Club and a communicant of St. John’s Church.

Upon retiring, she and her husband enjoyed many years at their winter home in St. Cloud, Florida. She was active in the St. Cloud Shuffleboard Club and won the State Championship. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing and most of all, her grandchildren. She was a dedicated wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Mederic R. Dubois, two daughters, Claudette (Gene) Sova of North Rose, NY and Mireille (Gerald) Watts of Hannibal, NY. Her son Martin Dubois predeceased her in 1979.

She is survived by 4 grandchildren, Gene Sova Jr., Jason Sova, Timothy (Angela) Watts, Sarah Watts and 2 great-grandchildren, Emma and Madison Watts.

Sisters surviving her are Diane Germain of California; Denise Picinnin, Therese Dion, and her brother, Marius Hamelin, all of the Province of Quebec, Canada.

Also surviving are several brothers & sisters-in-law, all of the Province of Quebec, Canada.

Funeral services will be held in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada.

Entombment Services will be held 11a.m. Friday at the All Saints Mausoleum, St. Peters Cemetery in Oswego with Rev. Robert Morisette officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Parkinson’s disease Association.
