Norma E. Bauer, 89

OSWEGO, NY – Norma E. Bauer, 89, a resident of 209 E. Fifth St., passed away on March 8, 2010, at Oswego Hospital.

Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Jessie (Brown) Herman.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was well known as a local bowler who participated in many leagues over several years.

Her crowning achievement was being elected to the Oswego Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame.

Norma was a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels.

She enjoyed going to the casinos with friends and playing Bunco.

Harborfest was her favorite time of the year and was known to have spent the entire day taking in as many activities as possible.

Being a great lover of music, Norma attended all the music events she was able to.

Surviving are two daughters, Christine (William) Palmer and Kimberly (John) Germain of Oswego; a son, David (Lee Ann Walker) Bauer of Oswego; eight grandchildren, William Palmer, Evan Palmer, John Germain, David Germain, Eric Germain, Karey Yacetta, Jason Bauer and Marc Bauer; seven great-grandchildren; and a personal friend, Jean Zeno.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in 1997.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 p.m.
