Robert J. “Spinner” Spinelli Sr., 81

Robert J. “Spinner” Spinelli Sr., 81, a resident of 107 Erie Street, Oswego, passed away, Friday March 26th, 2010 at SUNY Upstate.

He was the husband of the late Rose G. Reitz Spinelli.

Born in Auburn, NY, he was the son of the late George and Louise (Demassi) Spinelli.

Robert was previously employed as a bartender at the Three Rivers Inn, Baldwinsville.

He served in the US Navy.

Robert enjoyed golf, bowling and softball. He operated Spinners Sub Shop and was a card dealer in Las Vegas as well as an avid poker player.

Surviving are three daughters, Denise Spinelli of Oswego; Roberta (Mike) Fortier of Oswego and Karen Spinelli; one son, Robert J. Spinelli Jr. of Oswego; two brothers, James (Roseann) Spinelli of Auburn and George (Karen) Spinelli of Auburn; two sisters, Barbara Manzone of North Syracuse and Gloria DeMarco of Auburn; two grandchildren, Dillon Hawey and Giovanni Scozzari.

Two brothers, John Spinelli and Michael Spinelli, predeceased him.

Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Josephs Church, Oswego.

Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego, NY.
