FULTON, NY – Oswego County Opportunities now has the means for people to make donations using their credit card. “We have added the PayPal function on our website,” said Owen Connell, senior director of finance for OCO.
The agency also has expanded into social media with several Facebook pages, a MySpace page, a Twitter account, and more.
At the lower left of the home page on www.oco.org, there is a “Make a Donation” button. Click and it takes you to the agency’s donation page. “Using PayPal on our website is a secure transaction,” Connell stated. “Your privacy is protected as your information is encrypted to prevent it from being intercepted.”
OCO does not sell, barter or rent contact or credit card information, and the agency does not store the credit card number beyond its last four digits, card type, and the donation transaction number – all in accordance with established standards for privacy and identity protection.
“The PayPal credit card donation process gives people a convenient option when donating to OCO,” said Diane Cooper-Currier, executive director. “Some of our donors have asked for this feature, and now we’re pleased to have it up and running.”
