OCO invites youth to join Youth Leadership Series

FULTON, NY – Oswego County Opportunities’ Health Education and Options programs invite Oswego County youth to attend a fun, interactive, and informative series of workshops on positive decision making, sexual health, and becoming leaders in their communities.

Attendees will complete the evidence based program Be Proud, Be Responsible which covers topics such as STDs, contraception, refusal skills, and communication.

Youth will also have the opportunity to learn real life skills such as cooking, budgeting, and goal-setting.

The series aims to prepare youth for adulthood, increase youth knowledge of healthy sexual behaviors, reduce risky sexual behaviors, and empower youth to positively influence and accurately inform their peers.

Sessions will be held at OCO’s Midtown Plaza office, 18 E. Cayuga St.  (next to JoAnn Fabrics) Fridays in August from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Session dates are: Aug. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29.

Lunch will be provided.
