OCO Teams With Dynamic Sound & Security To Help Clean Up Cancer

OSWEGO, NY – Oswego County Opportunities’ Cancer Services Program and Dynamic Sound & Security in Oswego want to help uninsured males 50 years of age and older stay clean of colorectal cancer.

Throughout the month of September OCO’s Cancer Services Program Partnership of Oswego County will offer uninsured men, age 50 and older, free colorectal cancer screenings.

As an incentive, all men who complete a colorectal cancer screening kit, now through Sept. 30 will receive a free basic vehicle detail, including a wash, dry and vacuum courtesy of Dynamic Sound & Security in Oswego.

“We want to raise awareness of the importance of men aged 50 and older getting screened for colorectal cancer. We are happy to be able to collaborate with Dynamic Sound & Security to offer this great incentive to encourage men not to wait and get screened today,” said Carolyn Handville, coordinator of OCO’s Cancer Services. “As Mike Leszczynski, owner of Dynamic Sound & Security says, you take care of yourself and we’ll take care of your car.”

Upon request, OCO’s Cancer Services Program distributing, free of charge to all uninsured men 50 years of age or older, the InSure Fecal Immunochemical Test kit for colorectal cancer.

“The test is totally private and easy to use. There is no need to stop into our office and no doctor visit. Just give us a call and we will mail the kit, complete with instructions and a self-addressed stamped envelope to return the results. It’s fast, easy, and done in the privacy of your own home,” explained Handville.

The new, highly accurate, InSure FIT test for colorectal cancer detects hidden blood in the stool that could be associated with colorectal cancer.

Completing this screening kit is the first step in early detection of colorectal cancer.

“It is a fact that colorectal cancer is 90% curable when detected early, which makes completing your colorectal cancer screening kit of greater importance since early detection is the best prevention against colon cancer.” added Handville.

Representatives from OCO’s Cancer Services Program Partnership will also be at Dynamic Sound & Security every Thursday from 4-7 p.m. throughout the month of September to discuss and the free colorectal screening kits.

“We are looking forward to provide our community members with life saving cancer screenings and reward those men that take charge of their health with a free vehicle detail.” added Handville.
