OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego High School frosh basketball team has been on a winning streak recently.
The Bucs moved to 3-3 on the year with a 50-44 win over Nottingham.
Late game clutch free throws by Dylan Lavner and Alex Makin held off the opposition. Dustin Sands had 10 points and Alex Makin tallied nine while Brandon Schultzkie and Dylan Lavner had an eight point game.
Kaleb Astoria and Ryan Lavner each had four. Tom Dillon scored three while Jonah Restuccio had two.
Oswego then won 57-51 over West Genesee as Sands scored a game high 21.
Restuccio had 10 while Makin scored six.
Coach Mike Martin said, Ã¢â‚¬Å“They played their best game of the year. We played a complete game at both ends of the floor and exhibited excellent man-to-man defense and offensive execution.Ã¢â‚¬Â
The next stop was a 53-27 win over Rome Free.
Oswego moved to a 16-4 first quarter lead and was never challenged.
Sands once again paced the team with 10 points while Schultzkie had eight and Restuccio seven while Makin added six.
The streak continued with an explosive 89-50 win over Central Square.
Sands scored 17, Schultzkie 13, Ryan Lavner a dozen, Dillon and Makin nine each, David Williams with eight, Dylan Lavner and Astoria with six each, Dan OÃ¢â‚¬â„¢Brien with three while Kaleb Allen, Alix Perez and Restuccio had two each.
Jacob Annal had a solid defensive game.
