OSWEGO, NY – Omar D. Davis Sr., 83, a resident of Fulton, passed away Thursday September 6, 2012, at Pontiac Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Fulton, he was the son of the late Bert and Clara (Cowles) Davis.
Omar was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1952-53.
He retired in 1994 as an almond roaster for Nestles in Fulton.
He previously worked as a cook for Cahill’s Fish Market, Fulton.
Omar enjoyed woodworking and was an auxiliary policeman in Fulton.
Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Gloria (Peck) Davis; daughter, Dareen (Randy Worden) Davis of Fulton; son, Omar D. (Sally) Davis Jr. of Fulton; two brothers, Douglas (Pat) Davis of Fulton and Gary (Joan) Davis of Oswego; five grandchildren, Michelle, Christopher and Matthew Davis, Jaime Ingersoll and Teri Wallace; two great grandchildren, Victoria B. and Alexis I.; two sisters-in-law, Linda Green and Jenny (Karl) Reynolds; several nieces and nephews.
Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Gerald Davis.
Graveside services will be held privately at Mount Adnah Cemetery, Fulton.
