VOLNEY – Today (November 8), at about 12:50 a.m., the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office investigated a personal injury motor vehicle crash that occurred on County Route 57 in the town of Volney, north of the city of Fulton.
So far, the investigation has revealed that Michael J. Slight, 21, of 24 Parkhurst Road, Oswego was operating a 2000 red Plymouth Neon northbound on County Route 57 when the vehicle struck a culvert and overturned.
Slight was taken to University Hospital, Syracuse.
A front seat passenger, Earl Horn, 33, of Granby, was taken to University Hospital with injuries.
Three passengers were sitting in the rear seat of the vehicle:
20-year-old Amber Swank of Fulton was taken to University Hospital.
18-year-old Justin Delahunt of Fulton was taken to University Hospital with severe injuries.
22-year-old Eugene Olcott was treated at the scene and released.
Slight, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Inadequate Tires, Uninspected Motor Vehicle, and Driving across Hazard Markings.
The charges are returnable to the Volney Town Court.
Route 57 was closed for several hours but has since been reopened.
The investigation remains active.
