One Dead, One Seriously Hurt In Sandy Creek Crash – Victim Identified


SANDY CREEK, N.Y — State Police in Fulton are investigating a fatal one-car crash that occurred on County Route 15 in the Town of Sandy Creek.

The investigation has revealed Tinecia M. Warner, age 27, from Lacona, NY, was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche westbound on County Route 15 in the Town of Sandy when she failed to negotiate a curve and exited the north shoulder, striking a mailbox at 2442 County Route 15.

After striking the mailbox, the vehicle slid sideways and became airborne, rolling several times on the roadway before exiting the shoulder, going down a 10 foot embankment and coming to rest on its wheels in a corn field.

Warner was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigation at the scene suggested that Warner was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

A front seat passenger in the vehicle, Norman C. Bacon, age 37, from Lacona, NY, who was wearing his seatbelt, suffered broken bones, scratches and scrapes and was transported from the scene to Oswego Hospital where he is expected to recover, troopers said.

SANDY CREEK, NY – State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Sandy Creek.

One person reportedly died at the scene and another was seriously injured.

A vehicle crashed over a guardrail on County Route 15 near Norton Road early this morning (May 2), police said.

State Police and local firefighters responded to the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The names of the victims haven’t been released.
