One Night Only: A Trio of Tenors

OSWEGO – Looking for something fun and relaxing to do in the lull between the Fourth of July and the excitement of Harborfest?

Then join the Oswego Opera Theater at The American Foundry at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 12, as it presents “A Trio of Tenors.”

This casual evening of song will include solos, duets, and trios from many music genres, including some familiar pop favorites, some musical theater pieces, some operatic pieces, and even some original songs.

The singers will be accompanied by the Oswego Opera Theater’s artistic director Juan Francisco LaManna.

The three singers, Cam Caruso, Gary Carpentier and David Artz are no strangers to the stage in Oswego.

Each had lead roles in musicals during their years at Oswego High School.

Each has also performed with the Oswego Opera Theater.

Carpentier played the policeman in the first production of Brundibar.

Caruso played the role of Don Curzio in The Marriage of Figaro and was in the summer production of Some Enchanted Evening: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Artz found his love of opera performing with the OOT in many productions, including playing Sem in Noye’s Fludde while in elementary school, and singing in the chorus with Oswego High School Chamber Singers for Amahl and the Night Visitors.

He was in the chorus for The Merry Widow, played Giuseppe in La Traviata, and Borsa in Rigoletto.

He also appeared in the Bring Them Home Concert and was a lead in the summer production of Some Enchanted Evening: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Please come and enjoy these talented young men and support Oswego Opera Theater as it prepares for its fall production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
