Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office Identifies Victim of Homicide

Town of Cicero, NY – The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office reports that a victim of a homicide that occurred in Brewerton in December 2016 has now been identified.

The Sheriff’s Office received confirmation yesterday (Feb. 21) that the victim has been positively identified as Aikeem Hudgins.

This identification was confirmed through the use of mitochondrial DNA testing.

On December 16, 2016, officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious incident at Bay Shore North Apartment complex in Brewerton.

Deputies discovered evidence of a crime in one of the apartments and shortly after a suspect was developed in the case.

Detectives charged Corey Slattery, 28, of Brewerton, and Connie Ingoldby, 48, of Phoenix, for charges related to the murder.

Due to the nature of the crime and the location of several crime scenes the identity of the victim was not able to be determined during the investigative stage of the case.

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office regrets that a positive identification did not occur sooner in our investigation for the family’s sake.

It is imperative that an investigation rely on factual information and in this case, scientific information.
