OPD Announces Drug Arrests


OSWEGO, NY – As a result of continued investigations into the alleged possession and sales of illegal drugs in the city of Oswego area, the Oswego City Police Department is announcing the following arrests:

On Aug. 3, at about 8:10 p.m. members of the Oswego City Police Department’s Anti Crime
Team (ACT) initiated a traffic stop in the area of Liberty Street and West Mohawk Street in the city of a vehicle being operated by Michael R. Maclean (DOB: 05/12/83) of 207 Phillips St., Fulton.

Upon making contact with Maclean, investigating officers smelled the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Maclean was subsequently asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 118 grams of marihuana, having a street value of approximately $1,118, according to police.

Maclean was charged with the following:

Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 4th Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)
Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drug- 1st Offense (Unclassified Misdemeanor)
Operating a Motor Vehicle with Obstructed Vision (Traffic Infraction)

Maclean was arraigned in Oswego City Court on the above charges and was released on his own recognizance.

In furtherance of the above listed incident, members of the Oswego Police Department’s ACT, with assistance from the Fulton City Police Department, executed a search warrant at Maclean’s Fulton home, at approximately 11:52 p.m. on Aug. 3.

As a result of the search warrant execution a total of 11.8 ounces (334.5 grams) of marijuana was seized.

The street value of the seized marijuana is estimated at approximately $3,350.

Maclean was additionally charged with:

Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 3rd Degree (Class E Felony).

Maclean was arraigned in Fulton City Court on that charge and was remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bail bond.

On Aug. 5, at approximately 8:30 a.m. members of the Oswego City Police Department’s ACT, with the assistance of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, performed a consent search at 58 Erie St., lower front apartment, in the city of Oswego, as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal drugs coming to the Oswego area from New York City.

As a result of that search 27.8 grams of crack cocaine and 8.8 grams of powder cocaine was seized, police said.

The approximate street value of the cocaine and crack cocaine seized is $3,308.

Derrick D. Stanley, (DOB: 01/12/84) of 297 Pulaski St., Brooklyn, NY, was arrested and charged with one count each of:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd, Degree (Class B Felony)
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree with Intent to Sell (Class B Felony)

Stanley, who is currently on NYS Parole, was arraigned in Oswego City Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility on no bail.

Also on Aug. 5, at approximately 6:48 p.m. in the parking lot of 246 State Route 104, Oswego, members of the Oswego City Police Department’s ACT, arrested Brenda L. Howard, (DOB: 02/29/72) of 11 Gregory St., Oswego.

The arrest was a result of an investigation into illegal drugs sales within the city of Oswego.

Howard was arrested for attempting to purchase cocaine as well as crack cocaine.

She was charged with one count each of:

Conspiracy in the 4th Degree (Class E Felony)
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)
Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree (Class B Misdemeanor)

Howard was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Oswego City Court on Sept. 15 at
9:30 a.m.

On Aug. 5, at approximately 8:17 p.m. in the parking lot of the Fastrac Convenience Store located at 214 W. Bridge St., Oswego, members of the Oswego City Police Department’s ACT arrested Nicholas E. Allen, (DOB: 08/28/86), no current address, and Molly A. Fleming, (DOB: 09/04/88) of 530 East Ave., Oswego.

The arrest was a result of an investigation into illegal drugs sales within the city of Oswego.

Allen and Fleming were arrested for attempting to purchase 4.5 grams of cocaine.

Upon being arrested Allen was found to be in possession of an additional 5 grams of cocaine and Fleming was found to be in possession of a prescription narcotic not prescribed to her.

Allen was charged with one count each of:

Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance- 3rd Degree, with Intent to Sell (Class C Felony)
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree (Class C Felony)
Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree (Class D Felony)
Conspiracy 4th Degree (Class E Felony)

Fleming was charged with one count each of:

Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance – 3rd Degree, with Intent to Sell (Class C Felony)
Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree (Class D Felony)
Conspiracy 4th Degree (Class E Felony)
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)

Allen and Fleming were each arraigned in Oswego City Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secure bail bond.

Allen and Fleming are to return to Oswego City Court on Aug. 17 at 1:30 p.m.
