OPD Peacefully Resolves ‘Domestic Incident’

OSWEGO – Today (October 28), at approximately 2:30 p.m., Oswego Police responded to an East Fourth Street residence in the city of Oswego regarding a third party report of a possible domestic incident in which one of the subjects may have been armed and possibly suicidal.

OPD units arrived on scene, assessed the situation and were ultimately able to make contact with the subject.

Following a brief interview, the subject surrendered to police who took the adult male subject into custody under the NYS Mental Hygiene Law.

The subject has been transported to Oswego Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

All household members were accounted for and were safe.

Oswego Police were assisted at the scene by US Border Patrol who provided perimeter support during the incident.

Police cleared the scene at approximately 4:30 p.m.
