Operation Oswego County Recognized by National Publication

OSWEGO, NY – Business Facilities magazine recently recognized Operation Oswego County with an Economic Development Excellence award for its 2013 Annual Economic Development Awards.

OOC received the honor, in the population between 50,000-200,000 category, for its overall performance on behalf of Oswego County, in terms of the expansion of existing businesses and the attraction of new ventures.

Business Facilities is a national site selection magazine which provides monthly news and resource information for more than 40,000 corporate executives responsible for the expansion or relocation of their companies.

Business Facilities is based in Tinton Falls, NJ.

According to the magazine, the EDA recognitions are awarded each year to economic development organizations “that have established and consistently executed the best practices in our industry, bringing measurable success in targeted economic development to the locations they represent.”

Other Excellence awardees included the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Lincoln (Neb.) Partnership and city of Rochester (NH).

Michael Treadwell, executive director of OCO. “This recognition would not have been possible without the cooperation and support from our federal, state and local partners including the County of Oswego Industrial Development Agency, U.S. Small Business Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development, New York State Senator Patty Ritchie, Assemblyman William Barclay, Assemblyman Robert Oaks, the Oswego Community Development Office, the Fulton Community Development Agency, the Oswego County Legislature, Empire State Development Corporation and the Central New York Regional Economic Development Council.”
