FULTON, NY – When Operation Oswego County releases its annual report, one of the projects to be recognized in the document will be Oswego County Opportunities’ new Community Service Center in Mexico.
The facility will be pictured on the cover of Operation Oswego County’s annual report with a brief summary of the project inside.
According to Operation Oswego County’s Marketing and Operations Director, Shannon Mantaro, Oswego County Opportunities’ Community Service Center was one of several projects for which Operation Oswego County provided assistance.
Each year the agency features one or more of those projects on the cover in order to represent both the diversity of the type of projects that Operation Oswego County is involved with and the location within the county.
“The uniqueness of Oswego County Opportunities’ project and the fact that it provides an essential service to the Mexico senior community made it an excellent choice. This was a great project and Operation Oswego County was proud to be able to assist,†Mantaro said.
Executive Director of Oswego County Opportunities, Diane Cooper-Currier, was honored that Oswego County Opportunities’ new Community Service Center in Mexico was chosen to be a part of Operation Oswego County’s annual report.
“We greatly appreciate the assistance we received from Operation Oswego County and are happy to be able to add this new facility to our Senior Nutrition Services,†she said.
Located on Scenic Avenue in Mexico, Oswego County Opportunities’ Community Service Center is the cornerstone of the agency’s Senior Nutrition Services.
The 6500 square-foot building is home to a brand new, state-of-the-art kitchen that is used to prepare meals for Oswego County Opportunities’ Senior Nutrition Services as well as conference rooms and offices for the staff.
The Mexico Community Service Center also provides opportunity for future expansion of services to the Mexico community.
A second phase of renovation will add approximately 1,000 square feet to the building for a variety of community services including: recreation and education activities for youth, support services for children, youth and families, meal service for children and family programs, and an access portal for consumers seeking any of Oswego County Opportunities’ many services.
Unveiled each year at Operation Oswego County’s annual meeting, the agency’s annual report includes:
- Project highlights
- Economic Development Impact Summary
- Recognition of our supporters and allies
