Ben VanDamme: The Stimulus Impact

Rent, Food, and Gas- that’s just the few of the things in which Americans pay for out of pocket. COVID-19 put a huge damper on the economy causing a panic of what to do next. The government is playing Russian roulette with keeping Americans floating above water. What’s sick about this whole thing – not one single government official is denying their pay check as the rest of Americans are struggling. They make more than the $1,200 stimulus check anyways, why do they care. As numbers rise due to the virus outbreak, businesses are being forced to limit themselves once again. In return unemployment will rise, and once again citizens are faced with the unknowns of if they will be able to feed their families. A $908 billion dollar relief package, and the government can’t agree to help the citizens with another round of much needed assistance. They failed to put that in the package. They failed to in simple terms, uphold their responsibility to serve the people of this great nation. They say it’s not that easy – well it is that easy if you use your brains for once. I’m calling on the Government to pass a deal that puts another stimulus check in the hands of Americans, so survival doesn’t have to end up like the hunger games.
