To the SUNY Oswego Class of 2026, the professors who guide, and the incredible community that surrounds this campus:
Today is a CELEBRATION of Intellectual Achievement, but more importantly, it is a Testament to the Power of Human Connection.
We often FOCUS on the degrees we earn, but the TRUE value of Our time here lies in HOW we show up for one another.
“Positive Humanity Matters” because our lives are DEEPLY intertwined, and our collective empathy has the power to SUSTAIN us through our darkest hours.
I was given a medical timeline—a literal death date of July 2026. By all medical estimations, I will not be here much longer, yet I Am STILL here because of resilience.
To every classmate, professor, staff member, and friend who simply paused to say “hi” in the hallways, or who offered words of encouragement when you learned about my battle upon my many visits to my alma mater: your small acts of KINDNESS were NOT small to me. You Gave me the Strength, the Hope, and the VITAL energy to CONTINUE fighting, to survive, and to outlive that expiration date. You helped KEEP me ALIVE.
As you go out into the world, May you ALL carry THIS lesson forward. NEVER underestimate the life+saving power of ACKNOWLEDGING another human being.
Thank you, SUNY Oswego, for the Education, the Memories, and Above All, for the Gift of Life and Community.
Congratulations to:
¡¡¡SUNY OSWEGO Class of 2026!!!
