“A short but memorable walk down memory lane”, is how the author describes his new book,
“ The Live 25 in Hi- Fi Jive…memoirs of a teenage disc jockey. “
This latest book is author John T. Sullivan Jr.’s fourth, and is a kind of sequel to his previously published autobiography, “Pee not your pants….memoirs of a small town Mayor,” which was released three years ago.
In this short but easily readable book, Sullivan takes the reader behind the scenes in the world of local radio in the early 1960s, during the emergence of rock and roll.
In sharing anecdotes and describing the goings on in Radio during that daytime AM heyday, the author creates a playlist of tunes that will stick to your ribs as you read and singalong. It is a Baby Boomer’s road trip back to the halcyon days of doo wop and one hit wonders.
Sullivan is the author of three other books, “ Forks in the road” I and II, which are a compendium of articles written about leading lights in his hometown community of Oswego, N. Y., and published monthly in the Palladium- Times.
His other book is an autobiography, entitled “Pee not your pants…Memoirs of a small town Mayor,” in which Sullivan takes us on an anecdotal trip through his long snd varied political career on the local, state and national level. He served as Co-chair of the NYS Democratic Committee from 1995-98, and as an Assistant Attorney General for NYS from 2003-2007, as head of the Watertown office, in addition to serving as Mayor of Oswego from 1887-91.
The book is currently available on Amazon.com in both paperback and Kindle E book format. It will be available later this month in The River’s End bookstore in downtown Oswego.
Paperback : $8.99
E book: $3.99
