Open Letter to Claudia Tenney

I write today because when I called your DC office two days ago I was met with rudeness, condescension and juvenile bullying by your aide. Therefore, I still have the question that I tried to ask your very rude staff.
When is enough enough?
• Trump tore down part of the People’s House without any oversight, and your party allowed it.
• Trump is openly corrupt with his “Pay for Play” tactics. The Quatre Jet that will cost millions of taxpayer dollars that he keeps, Bit coin, Trump family monetarily profiting off the White House
• Trump orders the Republicans not to negotiate with Democrats and instead the government shuts down. The Democrats could be asking for more but at this point are only asking to save healthcare for US citizens. Please don’t waste your time telling me that it’s for “illegals”. We both know better. Republicans own government right now and no matter how you try to spin it, this shut down lies at the feet of your party. Many are now out of jobs or working without pay, while you and your compatriots are home on paid leave.
• Duly elected Adelita Grijalva should have been sworn into office weeks ago but your leader won’t do it and no one is holding him accountable. Why??? Epstein? We have not forgotten.
• Snap Benefits: U.S. Department of Agriculture is sitting on $6 billion in funds Congress appropriated for just such an event as a shut down yet your party is refusing to release the money, taking away food and nutritional programs from the very people who voted you into office. Do you understand that in Oswego County there are 16,457 people in 9,148 households who actively receive SNAP benefits? That is nearly 15% of county residents and equal to the entire population of the City of Oswego.
• Republicans attempt to lay this on the Democrats because they won’t sign the CR. The fact is that Republicans refuse to negotiate. You want to keep the government shut down, that is plainly obvious.
• The Treasury however found $40 billion to bolster Trump ally Javier Milei in Argentina,
• Johnson is refusing to bring the House into regular session to negotiate an end to the government shutdown, and
• Trump demanding $230 million in damages from the American taxpayer, and bulldozing the East Wing of the White House to build a gold-plated ballroom that will dwarf the existing White House, and traveling to Asia, where South Korean leadership courted him by giving him a gold crown and serving him brownies topped with edible gold!
Blaming any funding shortfall on Democrats is a hard sell. This mess was bought and paid for by the Republican party. You have refused to come to Oswego and meet with constituents, yet you have the audacity to come to town for a fund raiser?? We don’t have the money!
